A heat wave with persistently high temperatures is expected in places
over Sarah Baartman, Chris Hani, Joe Gqabi, Alfred Nzo, Or Tambo and
Amathole until Thursday(29/01/2029) but until at least Friday
(30/01/2026) over the Northern Cape, central and southern Free State and
southwestern parts of North West.

North-West Province

Free State
Fine and hot to very hot, becoming partly cloudy in the afternoon with isolated showers and thundershowers.
Northern Cape
Fine to partly cloudy and hot to very hot, with isolated afternoon showers and thundershowers.
The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh southerly to south-easterly.
Western Cape
Cloudy in places along the south coast and adjacent interior in the morning, partly cloudy and warm to hot but very hot to extremely hot over the Central and Little Karoo, however cool in places over the Cape Peninsula and southern parts of Overberg. It will become cloudy with isolated showers and thundershowers in the north-eastern parts by the afternoon.
The wind along the coast will be fresh to strong southerly along the west and south-west coast in the morning, otherwise light to moderate westerly to south-westerly, reaching fresh to strong in places from the afternoon.

Western Half Of The Eastern Cape
Partly cloudy and hot to very hot, but extremely hot in places with isolated showers and thundershowers but scattered in the north.
The wind along the coast will be Moderate to fresh south-westerly.
Eastern Half Of The Eastern Cape
Partly cloudy and hot to very hot with scattered showers and thundershowers, but isolated in the north.
The wind along the coast will be Moderate to fresh north-easterly, but strong north of East London from the afternoon. It will become moderate south-westerly south of East London.
Kwazulu-Natal
Partly cloudy and warm to hot but very hot in places in the east. Isolated showers and thundershowers are expected in the west and south.
The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh north-easterly.
